On March 12, the China Home Appliances and Consumer Electronics Expo (AWE 2026) opened in Shanghai. As one of the world’s top three home appliance and consumer electronics exhibitions, this year’s AWE once again showcased numerous cutting-edge technologies. AI glasses, an important form of AI terminal, made their domestic debut with Qianwen’s first AI hardware, the “Qianwen AI Glasses,” becoming a major highlight.

“Hello Qianwen, help me take a photo!” A visitor was issuing commands, experiencing interaction with this domestically developed “black tech” new product. The experience area at the Qianwen booth was crowded, with many visitors lining up to try on the glasses.

A staff member from Qianwen AI Glasses explained that shortly after the exhibition began, the devices were in high demand, “Basically, as soon as one visitor takes them off, the next one puts them on immediately.” Many visitors were experiencing AI glasses for the first time, most interested in the AI assistant and real-time translation features, trying different scenarios like asking about the weather, navigation, translation, taking photos, and listening to music.

On March 14, during the domestic product launch held at AWE 2026, Wu Jianjun, head of Alibaba Qianwen’s C-end AI hardware product team, announced that the Qianwen AI Glasses G1 had been released. Equipped with top-tier hardware, they will also incorporate more AI capabilities in the future, aiming to be “smart in answering, reliable in handling tasks, stylish, and powerful.”

Wu Jianjun stated that Qianwen AI Glasses aim to extend the Qianwen AI assistant from mobile apps to the glasses users wear daily, making AI more naturally integrated into everyday life. “We hope that through AI glasses, users can communicate with AI anytime they need, turning the glasses into a portable smart assistant.”

For example, during travel, users can inquire about nearby attractions or buildings; at exhibitions or museums, they can learn the stories behind exhibits through dialogue; in daily life, they can use voice commands for taking photos, recording information, and searching for data; in cross-language communication scenarios, real-time translation makes conversations smoother, removing language barriers.

Regarding specifications, the Qianwen AI Glasses G1 feature the industry’s most advanced dual-chip dual-system setup. To address the major industry issues of “poor photo quality, short usage time, and limited storage,” it debuts with “super night scene + hot-swappable batteries + 64GB large storage,” along with 8mm ultra-thin temples and versatile fashionable frames. It also includes bone conduction microphones for precise audio pickup and Super RAW low-light enhancement technology, weighing around 41g, suitable for voice assistants, recording, and information retrieval in “all-day online” scenarios.

Additionally, Qianwen AI Glasses G1 benefits from Alibaba’s full ecosystem, deeply integrating with Taobao, Gaode, Alipay, Quark, Fliggy, and other Alibaba platforms. With just one voice command, users can order food, check flights and hotels, compare prices, or view store reviews—completely screen-free, voice-only experience, simplifying daily life.

Currently, Qianwen continues to invest in “AI services,” allowing users to place various service orders with a single sentence, enjoying the convenience and discounts brought by AI handling. During the Spring Festival this year, Qianwen completed 200 million real orders. By the end of this month, the AI glasses will also launch features like “AI services,” further expanding AI applications in daily life.

It is clear that the core positioning of the Qianwen AI Glasses G1 is as the most powerful portable hardware for the Qianwen AI assistant, deeply integrating Alibaba’s strongest models and extensive ecosystem services, transforming smart glasses from simple “passive responders” into proactive “intelligent agents” capable of chatting and handling tasks.

Earlier this month, Song Gang, head of Alibaba Qianwen AI hardware, stated that the AI glasses sector will reach a critical turning point this year, with rapid breakthroughs ahead. Compared to smartphones, “being able to handle tasks” may be a more urgent scenario for AI glasses. The Agent function, simply put, is AI task handling, which will be the biggest differentiator for Alibaba’s AI hardware. All product definitions and plans will prioritize this ultimate goal. When asked how to define Alibaba’s AI hardware strategy or its differentiation from other manufacturers in one sentence, Song Gang decisively replied: “It’s AI task handling.”

Market response has been consistently enthusiastic since the release of Qianwen AI Glasses.

Previously, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, Qianwen AI Glasses attracted global media and industry attention with their industry-first “hot-swappable batteries,” all-day comfort, and deeply integrated “AI task handling” capabilities.

On March 2, the Qianwen AI Glasses officially launched, opening online and offline channels for “zero yuan reservations.” On March 8, the G1 model went on sale, with some channels selling out within three hours. The market reaction was extremely positive. That evening, Qianwen AI Glasses announced a temporary full-channel sell-out, with a second sale scheduled for 10 a.m. on the 9th.
