General Office of the CCP Central Committee and General Office of the State Council: Optimize Urban Layout in Revolutionary Old Areas, Support Qualified Cities in Building Provincial Secondary Central Cities and Regional Central Cities at Inter-Provincial Boundaries

People's Financial News, March 13 — The General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council issued the “Opinions on Accelerating the Revitalization and Development of Revolutionary Old Areas,” which proposes to improve the level of new urbanization. It aims to optimize the layout of towns in revolutionary old areas, support qualified cities in building provincial sub-centers and regional central cities in inter-provincial border areas. The plan encourages population concentration and industrial clustering in county towns, fostering a number of strong agricultural counties, large industrial counties, and tourism-famous counties based on local conditions. It also emphasizes strengthening the construction of larger central towns to promote nearby urbanization of agricultural migrant workers. Additionally, efforts will be increased to renovate old urban communities, improve infrastructure such as drainage, flood prevention, sewage collection, and treatment, and optimize the layout of urban public charging networks.
