Recently, I encountered an outrageous issue when transferring on BSC. My wallet had no BNB, and MetaMask popped up an option to pay with USDT on my behalf. A single transfer deducted a fee of $0.12. What's going on?
Normally, as a low-cost network, BSC should have cheap transaction fees. But when I checked the current gas fees on the Ethereum mainnet, transfers cost less than $0.10. BSC used to have the advantage of low fees to crush Ethereum—so why has it flipped now?
Is it because BSC has been congested recently, or are these third-party pay-on-behalf solutions inherently ridiculously expensive? Has anyone else encountered this situation lately?
