Many people ask me how to survive in contract trading. To be honest, over the years, from significant losses to stable profits, the biggest gain is not how much I’ve earned, but that I’ve developed a usable trading system. Today, I’ll break down this method to see if it can help everyone.

**Logic for Selecting Coins**

First, clarify the criteria for choosing coins. Scan the list of coins with the highest gains over the past 11 days, but beware of a trap—exclude coins that have been falling for three consecutive days. These are usually signals of major players taking profits and fleeing; chasing them is just taking on the risk.

Next, open the monthly chart and look at the MACD. Only focus on coins that show a golden cross. Keep it simple—this is the only condition. It’s used to filter mid-term trends and ensure the overall direction is good.

**Entry Timing**

Switch to the daily chart and focus solely on the 60-day moving average. When the price pulls back close to the 60 MA and a volume-increasing K-line appears, that’s a signal to heavily enter the position. Simple and straightforward, but very effective.

**Exit Rules (This is the key to making money)**

After entering, the 60-day moving average becomes your lifeline. Hold above it, but must clear out below. The specific steps are:

- When the wave gains more than 30%, sell one-third to lock in profits.
- When gains exceed 50%, sell another one-third.
- The most important step—if the price drops below the 60 MA the next day after buying, exit all positions immediately. Don’t think about a rebound or hold onto luck.

Although using this monthly + daily method makes the probability of breaking the MA very small, risk awareness is essential. Capital preservation is the top priority in the crypto world. The good news is, even if you sell, you can buy again when the price meets your buy point. Opportunities are plentiful.

**The Real Challenge**

Honestly, the difficulty in making money from trading isn’t the lack of a method, but whether you can stick to executing it. A good trading system is like a key—it helps you pinpoint critical levels, catch entry signals, and find profit opportunities. But only you can use this key; your execution determines the outcome.

If the 60 moving average can't hold, you have to run. Easy to say, hard to do.

The 60 moving average is really awesome; the key is to stick to discipline and not to panic.

That's right, but most people die at the point of unwillingness to cut losses.

You're absolutely right, execution is the real challenge. I've known about this 60-day moving average system for almost a year now, but I still frequently get trigger-happy and cut losses prematurely. I feel like I'm not worthy of the "president" title at all.

Basically, it's about discipline; most people fail due to their mindset.

look, if you actually ran a proper correlation matrix on MACD crossovers vs sustained profitability, you'd find the r-squared is frankly embarrassing. most people just don't have the discipline tbh.

If the 60 moving average drops below, run away. If you can't do this, all methods are useless.

The 60 moving average is really the lifeline. I was liquidated because I didn't hold that line. Now, whenever I see it break, I just run away.
