The era of a single dominant centralized cloud service is being dismantled by a new combination of technologies.

The complete closed loop of decentralized computing has already formed. On the compute side, there is io.net's global distributed GPU cluster; on the storage side, the Walrus protocol offers a low-cost solution through RedStuff encoding technology. The deep integration of these leading projects has completely changed developers' cost structures—traditional cloud storage and compute expenses have been slashed by 80%.

But the true revolution is not in cost, but in capability.

Developers are no longer constrained by pre-made frameworks. On this platform, you can integrate any custom AI model, building it exactly as you want. More importantly, privacy is safeguarded—through Seal protocol's encryption mechanisms and fine-grained access control, your model parameters and training data can be securely locked on-chain. Only authorized nodes can participate in training, effectively solving the industry’s persistent problem of data leaks.

The ecosystem’s synergistic effects continue to unfold. Collaboration with Gata has built an open AI execution infrastructure, allowing the community to download data for free and contribute synthetic datasets without permissions. Partnering with FLock.io advances federated learning, making secure sharing of encrypted gradients and data a reality. In the future, an AI Copilot exclusive to the Sui ecosystem will be launched, directly supporting Move code generation and smart contract assistance—meaning the intelligent development toolchain will gradually become complete.

Behind the numbers is real adoption. Walrus currently handles 1.11PB of data, with 103 storage operators and over 105,000 accounts participating. Leading NFT projects and AI applications are integrating not because of concepts, but because they are practical.

The native token serves as the ecosystem’s hard currency, covering storage fee settlements, staking guarantees, and governance voting across the entire chain. As AI application scenarios explode, daily consumption continues to rise. Coupled with the deflationary model design, scarcity is naturally reinforced.

AI is becoming the core productivity. This storage infrastructure, which combines technological barriers, ecosystem breadth, and institutional backing, is opening a new chapter of decentralized intelligence. For Web3 builders, this is indeed a must-watch track in the second half.

Cutting costs by 80% sounds great, but only what can actually be implemented counts. If privacy can truly be locked down, that would indeed change the game. Walrus has already released data, this is not just talk. But to be fair, with such complex ecosystem integration, developers might find it a bit difficult to get started. I'm somewhat optimistic about this track, but we still need to observe real-world usage. This is the way Web3 should go, not just speculating on coins.

80% cost reduction? Sounds good, but the key still depends on the actual user experience.

Cut 80% of the costs? Easy to say, but how does it actually run? I feel like this is just another PPT project hyping concepts.
