How far is Ethereum from breaking the "Impossible Triangle"? An overview of PeerDAS and ZK-EVM developments
【BitPush】Ethereum has approached the long-standing “Impossible Triangle” problem that has plagued blockchain technology for years at the technical level. The key lies in two upgrades: PeerDAS and ZK-EVM.
PeerDAS was launched on the mainnet last year, solving the data availability bottleneck. Although ZK-EVM is still improving security, its performance has already reached production standards. According to the plan, it will begin trial operation in the network by 2026.
In the coming years, Ethereum needs to adjust the gas cap, reconstruct the state structure, and gradually introduce more verification mechanisms based on ZK-EVM. Only then can it truly find a balance between decentralization, security, and high throughput.
This is not a castle in the air. All of these are built on an already operational codebase. Over the past decade, Ethereum has made tremendous efforts to solve data availability and scalability issues. Now, this long-term vision is finally beginning to move from the laboratory to reality.
