Argentina is one of the most active cryptocurrency markets in Latin America.

According to media reports, the exchange notified customers that the exchange between the peso and USDC will end on January 31, 2026. After this date, it will no longer be possible to buy or sell stablecoins with the local currency, nor to withdraw funds to Argentine bank accounts.

A spokesperson for the compliant platform stated that this move represents a strategic pause aimed at reassessing and strengthening product offerings and preparing for a more sustainable return in the future.

Trading between cryptocurrencies will remain available, and user funds will not be affected. Customers will have 30 days to complete transactions involving the currency before the peso operations are closed.

The platform received registration as a virtual asset service provider from the National Securities Commission of Argentina on January 28, 2025, further consolidating its position as a compliant company. According to the platform’s own estimates, approximately 5 million people in Argentina use cryptocurrencies daily.
