Lombard Makes History with First On-Chain Acquisition of BTC.b from Ava Labs ⛓️
Lombard has completed the acquisition of BTC.b from Ava Labs, marking what it describes as the first full on-chain merger in Web3 history. The deal transfers control of the asset, which has approximately $550 million in locked value, to Lombard's infrastructure.
This strategic move integrates BTC.b as the native Bitcoin representation within the Lombard ecosystem, positioning it to compete with wrapped assets like wBTC. The acquisition is expected to strengthen Lombard's $BARD token through new revenue streams from asset operations.
Lombard ($BARD) is building a Bitcoin Capital Markets Layer, creating DeFi infrastructure for Bitcoin-based financial products using on-chain collateral.
