Paradigm's Alexander Grieve Pushes for SEC Form S-1 Update for Crypto Assets

Abstract generation in progress

Alexander Grieve wants change. As VP of Government Affairs at Paradigm, he's calling for a serious overhaul of the SEC's S-1 form. Crypto is different. The forms should reflect that. He made his stance clear on social media back in September 2025.

What sparked this? SEC Commissioner Mark Uyeda made some comments about annuity rules. Interesting timing. In a footnote—yes, just a footnote—Uyeda suggested updating the S-1 form. Small detail, big implications. This marks the first time he's publicly backed a crypto-specific disclosure system.

Grieve isn't just anyone in this space. Yale MBA. Former Tiger Hill Partners guy. He seems convinced that new SEC leadership could flip the script on digital assets. Many in the industry agree. The current framework? Kind of outdated for what's happening now.

The GENIUS Act passed in July 2025. Since then, Grieve has been talking more. A lot more. Innovation matters. So does oversight. Finding that balance isn't entirely clear yet.

The crypto landscape keeps shifting. Regulations need to catch up. That's the point.
