Square Foundation Sets Aside $10,000 for Nonprofits

Abstract generation in progress

The Square Foundation just dropped some news. $10,000 for nonprofits. Soon.

They shared this on their official channel. The money? It'll go toward research, development, ecosystem grants. Charitable stuff. Not one big chunk—they're splitting it into smaller donations.

Back in June, they changed things up. New rules for nonprofit money. Annual spending cap: 15%. Multi-year reserves. A kind of gradual approach to spending that won't burn through everything at once. Seems like they're thinking long-term here.

July was interesting. Another $10,000 went out. Some community development group got it. First official nonprofit on their books, from what I gather.

Their donation system is pretty slick. Nonprofits get online pages. Payment links. Recurring options. QR codes too. Good for steady cash flow, I guess. Not entirely clear if everyone loves the 2.6% + $0.10 fee per donation, but that's the rate.

Tax receipts? They've got that covered. Works with Donorbox and other systems. Plugs right in.
