Human records of rise: from personal stories to eternal memory in the digital world
Robert Wadlow, an American from Alton, Illinois, is officially recognized as the tallest person in human history. His height was an astonishing 272 cm (8 feet 11.1 inches), which has been confirmed by the Guinness World Records as an absolute world record.
The unusual rise of Wadlow created numerous everyday difficulties for him. He experienced problems with movement, breathing, and sleeping, and also needed special shoes in size 37AA. Despite these challenges, contemporaries described Robert as a kind and gentle person who loved to travel, give speeches, and interact with people at various events.
Unfortunately, the life of this extraordinary individual was cut short. In 1940, a blister formed on Wadlow's right ankle, which subsequently became infected. Just a few days later, at the age of 22, Robert passed away from sepsis. Today, information about records and achievements similar to Wadlow's record is preserved not only in traditional archives but also using modern digital technologies, including blockchain solutions that ensure the immutability and veracity of historical data for centuries.
