What is Fantom (FTM) and how does it work?
Fantom 🚀 saw the future of decentralized applications long before others.
Many cryptocurrencies are just investments or forms of payment. Fantom is not. Its focus? dApps. Total. It is a technological ecosystem made for efficient smart contracts. Fast. Cheap. Powerful.
Understanding Fantom (FTM) 🔥
The Fantom Foundation says it has created a "high-performance, scalable, and secure smart contract platform."
It seems that the project has several interesting parts:
Fantom Opera Blockchain: It's the foundation of everything. An open DAG network that works with the Ethereum Virtual Machine. You can use existing contracts. Cool.
Lachesis: A leaderless PoS consensus system. It uses something called ABFT. A bit complicated, but the important part? Super fast validations. Seconds, not minutes. Impressive.
Custom networks: Each application on Fantom has its own blockchain. Like, its own house. With its own rules. Its own tokens. But all connected. A "network of networks" 🌐, they say.
EVM compatibility is a big advantage. It's not entirely clear to everyone, but it means that Ethereum contracts run directly on Fantom.
