Google Authenticator: What's That?

robot
Abstract generation in progress

Google Authenticator generates dynamic passwords. It's similar to SMS authentication. Every 30 seconds, boom—new code. Works offline too.

Setting it up? Why bother?

Your account becomes way more secure. Login, money stuff, withdrawals—all safer. Hackers hate it. They steal your password? Too bad. They still can't get in.

Getting Started

Step 1: Log in. Find "Security Center." Click it.

Step 2: Hit "Setup." Simple.

Step 3: Follow the prompts for your phone.

Got an iPhone? The App Store video shows everything. Android user? Check the Google Play demo. It helps.

Where to find it:

iPhone people: App Store → "Google Authenticator" Android folks: Same thing, but Google Play.

Adding your key

See that plus sign in the corner? Tap it. Scan the QR code. Or type the key manually. Whatever works.

Finishing up:

Type your password. Enter the Google code. Add your phone/email verification too. Click "Get Now." Then "Connect." Done!

Heads up:

That key? It's kind of important. Like, really important. If your phone dies or vanishes—the key brings back your access. Save it somewhere. Not kidding.

Each password lasts just 30 seconds. Use it once and it's gone. So... type fast?
