Hacker Coinbase bought 18.9 million USD Ether when ETH surpassed the 4,700 USD mark.
A cryptocurrency wallet associated with a notorious hacker who previously attacked Coinbase has just purchased an additional 3,976 Ether (ETH), worth over 18.9 million USD at a price of 4,756 USD per token, according to on-chain data.
The transaction was carried out on Saturday, using 18.911 million DAI, according to data from Arkham Intelligence. This hacker gathered scattered DAI amounts, ranging from 80,000 USD to 6 million USD, before making multiple purchases of ETH.
The Coinbase hacker wallet has been tracked by blockchain analysts since the beginning of this year. It is believed to be linked to a social engineering scam ( worth over 300 million USD, targeting Coinbase users.
In May, on-chain and security analyst ZachXBT estimated that this campaign had defrauded victims of at least 330 million USD. He stated:

The latest Ether accumulation occurred after a series of significant transactions from the same address. Last month, the wallet purchased 8 million worth of Solana through several purchases, and the price has dropped below the original price.
Previously, in July, this wallet had collected 4,863 ETH ###12.55 million USD( and 649 ETH )2.3 million USD( at a price of about 3,562 USD for each token.
Meanwhile, the latest purchase of Ether occurred as the price of ETH rose above 4,700 USD on Saturday, reaching a local high of around 4,763 USD, the highest in over two weeks. At the time of writing, ETH is trading at 4,658 USD.
