CoreWeave Establishes AI Venture Capital Department to Expand High-Performance Computing Business
[Chain News] On September 9, it was reported by a certain information platform that CoreWeave (CRWV) announced the establishment of a venture capital division focused on early-stage artificial intelligence startups. This new fund, named CoreWeave Ventures, will focus on investing in startups that develop artificial intelligence tools, infrastructure, or applications. The company did not disclose how much funding will be allocated, but views this move as an extension of its broader mission to support high-performance computing in machine learning and generative artificial intelligence.
According to previous news, CoreWeave is acquiring the Bitcoin mining company Core Scientific (CORZ) in an all-stock deal valued at $9 billion. The merger plan was announced in July and is still awaiting approval from shareholders and regulatory authorities.
