Standard Chartered predicted the price of Ethereum by the end of the year.
Standard Chartered bank employees have made a new forecast for the price of Ethereum by the end of 2025.
In March, analysts at the company lowered the target from $10,000 to $4,000, which the price of ETH could reach this year. Experts explained this as a "structural decline" in the cryptocurrency ecosystem, as a result of which Ethereum has significantly lost ground against Bitcoin. However, recent successes of ETH have forced experts to change their viewpoint again.
We currently believe that ETH will rise to $7,500 by the end of 2025, and its price will increase to $25,000 by the end of 2028, said Jeffrey Kendrick, head of digital assets at Standard Chartered.
As a result of the fifth wave of the bullish trend that began in early August, the price of Ethereum increased by 43% and reached a maximum of $4,806 on August 14, the highest since December 2021, and then corrected to $4,733. Accordingly, if Kendrick's prediction comes true, the digital asset will appreciate by 58% from its current value.
The hypothesis of Ethereum's price increase to $7,500 this year contradicts Elliott's wave theory, according to which the fifth wave cannot exceed the strength of the third. In the context of the third wave, ETH has increased by 86%, therefore its price should not exceed $6,240. Accordingly, if we believe in wave theory, the forecast of Standard Chartered analysts will not come true.
