MemeStrategy, formerly known as Maistrategy, listed on the Hong Kong exchange, announced that it has bought approximately 2.440 Solana (SOL) for about 2.91 million Hong Kong dollars (372.000 US dollars) using its internal resources. This move shows that the company’s interest in blockchain and Web3 innovation has increased.

The company emphasized its value proposition to support Solana's decentralized applications (dApps), DeFi infrastructure, and broader Web3 use cases in its official statement, positioning this investment as a strategic allocation to emerging digital ecosystems.

Following the announcement, the share price of MemeStrategy reached 2.42 HKD per share with an increase of approximately 21% in Monday's trading session.

The company has officially rebranded as "MemeStrategy" while the stock code remains unchanged. The name change reflects its ongoing strategic shift towards the crypto and Web3 sectors.

This exchange came after Ray Chan, co-founder of 9GAG, successfully acquired another company previously listed in Hong Kong, Hypebeast Holdings, and announced that he would change the name of this company to MemeStrategy and allocate part of its treasury to Bitcoin and other crypto assets.

MemeStrategy's recent Solana buyout shows that there is an increasing institutional interest in digital assets among publicly traded companies in Asia, especially as the Web3 narrative continues to attract attention in global capital markets.
