The 4-year silence has been broken: a $250 million ETH transfer
A whale made a transfer of approximately 249 million dollars worth of Ethereum (ETH) after four years of silence. With this transfer, approximately 97 thousand ETH were sent to three different wallets, while 137 ETH were sent to the cryptocurrency exchange Bitstamp.
According to the on-chain analysis firm Onchain Lens, this wallet owner withdrew a total of 101,390 ETH from the Binance and Bitstamp exchanges 4 to 5 years ago. At that time, the total value of the ETH in question was 67 million 180 thousand dollars. When calculated at current prices, the whale has made an impressive profit of approximately 192 million 380 thousand dollars.
In recent weeks, Ethereum has turned its direction upwards, following a parallel trend with Bitcoin. It is believed that Donald Trump's signals of easing customs tariffs and institutional investors making consecutive cryptocurrency purchases have a significant share in these increases.
