No New Trump Token: WLFI Warns of Fake Truth Social Memecoin Rumors

The crypto world has been buzzing lately — is Donald Trump’s Truth Social really launching a memecoin? On May 13, World Liberty Finance (WLFI), the Trump-affiliated blockchain company, issued a firm warning: “It’s a scam.”

🔥 Ran Neuner Sparked the Buzz. WLFI: “Scammers are preying on the uninformed.” The hype began when Ran Neuner, CNBC contributor and host of Crypto Banter, claimed on X (formerly Twitter) that a “Truth Social memecoin would launch in 72 hours”, allegedly backed by Trump’s team. He even hinted at an NFT marketplace called “Trump Points.” His post went viral, sending memecoin traders and Trump-themed token enthusiasts into a frenzy. But it quickly became clear: it was nothing but speculation.

🛑 WLFI: There's Only One Official Project — Ours WLFI, led by Donald Trump Jr., responded swiftly, stating there is no new crypto or memecoin project associated with Donald Trump or Truth Social. “Anyone promoting fake tokens is simply a scammer trying to take advantage of people. WLFI remains the only Trump-backed DeFi project.”

🧯 Donald Trump Jr.: “Don’t fall for it. There’s no Truth Social memecoin.” Trump Jr. took a clear stance, confirming that rumors of a Truth Social coin are completely false: “There is absolutely no truth to the claim that Truth Social launched a memecoin. Don’t be fooled by people spreading fake news.” Despite this, more than 20 fake “Truth” tokens have popped up on Ethereum and Solana, with no ties to Trump or WLFI.

🧠 But What About Truth Social’s Actual Crypto Plans? Interestingly, Truth Social is exploring crypto — but not through memecoins. In an April 30 letter to shareholders, Trump Media & Technology Group (DJT) revealed it is considering launching a utility token to power Truth+ subscriptions and eventually be integrated into the broader Truth ecosystem. The company also mentioned plans to launch ETFs that blend crypto with stocks, in partnership with Crypto.com. These would include digital assets, energy sector securities, and more — with rollout expected in 2025.

📉 Summary: No Memecoin — But Real Blockchain Ambitions Ahead While speculation around a Trump-themed memecoin is rampant, WLFI has made it crystal clear: no new Trump token is launching. At the same time, Truth Social is laying the groundwork for serious crypto products — from utility tokens to ETFs. For now, investors should stay cautious: most “Trump” memecoins on the market are scams. Only trust updates coming directly from WLFI or DJT.
