The U.S. Department of Justice opposes Ethereum developer Virgil Griffith's application for a 5-year commutation.

Golden Finance reported that US Department of Justice officials have drafted a motion opposing Ethereum developer Virgil Griffith's request for a reduced sentence for violating sanctions against North Korea. In a document submitted to the US District Court for the Southern District of New York on June 17, US prosecutor Damian Williams argued that the judge should reject the motion to reduce Virgil Griffith's sentence to 51 months.
