How I transferred crypto from the exchange to my wallet - personal experience and advise
Oh, how these exchanges with their limits and constant checks have annoyed me! Just recently, I finally decided to withdraw my coins from one popular trading platform - I won’t say which one, but you probably understand - and transfer them to my personal wallet. To be honest, I struggled with this process more than I expected.
At first, I was stumped for a long time trying to find the withdrawal button - it seemed like the developers were hiding it on purpose! When I finally found the "Withdrawal" section in my account, the most nerve-wracking part began. Have you ever tried to double-check a 40-character address, comparing every letter and number? I almost strained my eyes!
An important point that many underestimate is the choice of the right network! Oh my God, how much cryptocurrency has already been lost because of this. You send ETH but choose the BSC network - and that's it, goodbye money. I triple-checked that I selected Bitcoin Network for my bitcoin and not some alternative.
Fees are a separate pain. When the market is overloaded, they skyrocket. Recently, I tried to transfer some ETH, and the fee was almost 30% of the amount! I had to wait for the night when the network is less congested.
After clicking the "Confirm" button, the agonizing wait began. Every two minutes I refreshed the blockchain explorer page to check if my transaction had appeared. When I finally saw the first confirmation, I breathed a sigh of relief.
You know, despite all these difficulties, there is something incredibly pleasant about having your money finally under your full control. No regulators, no exchanges can freeze or take them away. This is true freedom, which is actually why cryptocurrencies were created.
For beginners, my main advice is to first make a test transfer of a small amount. Make sure everything works correctly, and only then send the main funds. And never, hear me, NEVER store large amounts on exchanges! The history of the crypto world has too often shown how they can suddenly "go bankrupt" along with your money.
