According to Bloomberg, citing informed sources, the United States and Iran are considering extending the ceasefire agreement, which is set to expire next Tuesday, by two weeks to buy more time for peace negotiations.
Mediators are attempting to arrange technical talks to address the most contentious issues.
This includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s uranium enrichment.
If successful, these talks could pave the way for a new round of negotiations between high-level officials of both countries.
However, another US official with knowledge of the situation stated that there is currently no guarantee that the ceasefire will be extended, and the US side has not yet agreed to the relevant arrangements.
Other informed sources say that both the US and Iran do not want to restart the conflict.
