Apple folds the iPhone also using the "Ultra" name! Specs leaked, starting at $2,000, MacBook with touch screen for the first time
Market rumors suggest that Apple is officially planning to use “Ultra” as the top-tier brand name across product lines. This model will be available on both foldable iPhones and new MacBooks. The foldable iPhone is rumored to feature a 7.76-inch internal screen, TSMC’s 2nm A20 Pro chip, side-mounted Touch ID, and start at over $2,000; the MacBook Ultra may become the first touch-screen MacBook with built-in 5G connectivity.

(Additional background: NVIDIA’s stock hits all-time high with a market cap over $5 trillion MGB: invested less than a year in Intel and doubled 2.5 times)

Apple’s “Ultra” model is currently rumored! The plan has only appeared on Apple Watch and M-series chips. But according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and multiple supply chain analysts, this term is about to become a top-tier designation across product lines, initially used for two product lines, including the foldable iPhone and the new MacBook.
If the rumors are true, the longstanding “Pro / Pro Max” naming convention for iPhones will be broken, and Ultra will become the highest-end Apple label.
Foldable iPhone leak specifications overview
Based on information from MacRumors, Ming-Chi Kuo, and Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants, the rumored specs for the foldable iPhone are quite complete.
According to rumors, Apple is exploring using LiquidMetal for the hinge, emphasizing a “nearly seamless” screen experience, which is a key differentiator in competing with Samsung.
MacBook Ultra’s six major highlights
MacBook Ultra is positioned as a new flagship above the MacBook Pro. According to Gurman and 9to5Mac, rumored features include:
Note that MacBook Ultra is not foldable; Apple’s full-screen foldable MacBook has been postponed to 2029.
Main specifications of competitors
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is already on sale, featuring an 8-inch inner screen, Snapdragon 8 Elite, 200MP main camera, priced at $1,599. Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold also has an 8-inch inner screen, priced at $1,799.
Apple’s starting price of $2,000 is 25% higher than Samsung’s, but IDC estimates that in the first year, Apple can still capture 22% of shipment volume market share and 34% of revenue market share because iPhone users have extremely high upgrade loyalty.
The entire foldable phone market is expected to grow 20-30% by 2026, with panel shipments increasing by 46% annually.
