National Intellectual Property Administration: Artificial intelligence, chips, brain-computer interfaces included in the "Fast Protection" channel
Golden Finance reported on April 24 on how AI-generated content can be protected, and what to do if chip layout design is infringed. On April 24, at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office, Guo Wen, spokesperson of the National Intellectual Property Administration and Director of the Department of Intellectual Property Protection, said that efforts will be made from three aspects—systems, services, and application—to set up a “protection network” to support innovation in emerging fields. Guo Wen explained that with systems in place, it is also necessary to make sure that innovation entities can “make effective use of them.” The National Intellectual Property Administration has further optimized its patent examination policies, providing multiple channels such as prioritized examination and expedited examination. As of now, a total of 890 publicly disclosed goods and services projects involving new industries and new business models such as big data and artificial intelligence have been accumulated, effectively addressing practical issues such as the lack of corresponding projects for trademark registration in emerging fields and unclear protection boundaries. Even more worth noting is that across the country, 82 national-level intellectual property protection centers have been planned and built, covering frontier directions and key areas such as artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, quantum technology, and brain-computer interfaces, effectively meeting innovation entities’ demand for “rapid protection.”(Jin10)
