Becent: The U.S. no longer considers imposing a 100% tariff on China.

[Bessent: The US no longer considers imposing a 100% tariff on China] On October 26, the China-US economic and trade teams concluded a two-day consultation in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. According to Reuters, this is the fifth face-to-face consultation between the China-US economic and trade teams since May of this year. After the talks, US Treasury Secretary Bessent stated in an interview with US media that after the two-day talks in Kuala Lumpur, both sides reached a “very substantial framework agreement,” and the US side is “no longer considering” imposing a 100% tariff on China.
