On October 10, Jin10 reported that, according to informed sources, the European Union will collaborate with the United States to develop a new plan to implement the next phase of their trade agreement, aiming to set aside Washington's proposal—which calls for the EU to withdraw some regulatory measures that Trump has long criticized. Sources said the current idea is to create a "checklist" to ensure the agreement remains on track and to move forward within the parameters set by both sides this summer. Earlier reports indicated that, earlier this month, Washington requested Brussels to amend several laws related to technology, digital, and corporate environment, which EU officials considered too stringent and difficult to serve as a starting point for negotiations. The EU has stated its readiness to discuss these issues and address concerns but will not relinquish its regulatory autonomy. Informed sources indicated that after talks last weekend between EU Trade Commissioner Šefčovič and U.S. Trade Representative Tai, Brussels decided to set aside these demands and instead develop a new list.
