Adobe partners with YouTube to promote Premiere Mobile, making it easy for Shorts creators to edit and upload videos.
The renowned design software company Adobe announced a collaboration plan with YouTube on October 28, primarily to bring Adobe's Premiere video editing technology directly into the YouTube Shorts creation ecosystem, allowing global creators to complete filming, editing, special effects, and uploading in a brand new content creation space “Create for YouTube Shorts.”
To turn Premiere Mobile into a Shorts creation center
Adobe stated that in the future, creators will be able to complete short video production in one go using Premiere Mobile in this new space, and can directly publish to YouTube Shorts, allowing millions of Shorts creators to utilize features such as studio-level sound effects, AI sound effect generation, multi-track editing, special effects, and templates.
In addition to the exclusive effects, transitions, and title presets provided by Adobe, creators can also:
Create professional-level transitions and effects using built-in templates.
Design your own template and upload it to inspire other creators.
Publish completed works to YouTube Shorts with one click.
After integration, creators can easily access the creation mode by clicking the “Edit in Adobe Premiere” icon within YouTube, allowing them to experience the full editing, sound effects, and AI generation features.
Four major highlight features: AI, sound effects, editing, templates fully upgraded
Adobe stated that this Shorts-exclusive creative space will combine multiple new features, including:
Firefly AI Generation Feature: Can automatically generate images or materials.
Generative Sound Effects: Provides studio-grade AI sound effects.
Precise multi-track editing and transition control: supports professional-grade video arrangement.
Exclusive effects and template center: Make your videos more eye-catching.
These features will be integrated into Premiere Mobile, enabling creators to “shoot, edit, and upload anytime, anywhere.”
Adobe's price increase has sparked controversy, with suspicions of hidden high cancellation fees and barriers to cancellation.
Although Adobe software has a place in design and video editing, its pricing plans are often criticized. As a result, Adobe's subscription fees have sparked a series of controversies and lawsuits.
In May of this year, Adobe adjusted its Creative Cloud prices upward and strongly promoted its AI services. Although Adobe also launched a “Standard” version ( that strips away some AI features ), the price actually decreased slightly, but many users feel that Adobe is effectively raising prices and reducing services.
At the same time, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the media are concerned about Adobe's annual monthly payment plan, which allegedly hides high early termination fees, has a complex cancellation process, and unclear information disclosure, leading many users to mistakenly believe they can cancel at any time. In October of this year, another class action lawsuit accused Adobe's registration interface of being a “trap subscription,” which appears to be a monthly payment with the option to stop at any time, but is actually a one-year contract with monthly payments, hiding the termination fees in hard-to-detect locations. For general and small creators, this means rising costs and increased risks of cancellation.
Therefore, the author suggests that before renewing, it is essential to carefully confirm the prices and cancellation terms of each plan, assess whether AI features are truly needed, and then compare other alternative software while keeping screenshots of the subscription and terms for future reference.
