YZi Labs leading a $11 million seed funding round for VideoTutor

YZi Labs has led an $11 million seed funding round for VideoTutor, an AI tutoring platform founded by 20-year-old entrepreneur Kai Zhao in Silicon Valley. The investment round included participation from ByteDance, Baidu Ventures, and other funds. VideoTutor helps students turn any question into animated lessons with voice, providing personalized knowledge, low-cost access, and 24/7 availability, targeting K–12, SAT/ACT, STEM, and language learning audiences.

Launched in May 2025, the platform quickly reached 20,000 users and over 1,000 global API integration requests. According to YZi Labs, VideoTutor stands out by combining language models with the Manim pipeline, enabling accurate, fast, and cost-effective processing of formulas and diagrams.

The investment will support the expansion of R&D, engineering teams, and expansion into Canada, the UK, and other international markets.
