Jeffy Yu, the 22-year-old developer behind Zerebro who appeared to take his own life during a livestream on May 4, has been confirmed alive by a local San Francisco reporter.
Spotted Outside His Parents’ Home
On May 8, George Kelly of the San Francisco Standard claimed he briefly spoke with Yu outside his family’s two-story residence. When asked about the suicide hoax and whether he profited from it, Yu declined to comment. Instead, he reportedly said, “You can see the PTSD in my eyes, right?” before asking the reporter to leave the premises.
Yu was described as wearing a T-shirt, shorts, flip-flops, and wire-rimmed glasses—similar to what he wore during the shocking livestream. However, no photos from this encounter were released by the news outlet.

Yu had gained recognition earlier in the year for discussing crypto AI agents during a January 2025 appearance on the Bankless podcast. His sudden disappearance, followed by a dramatic return to the spotlight, has stirred widespread speculation across the crypto community.
